Security

Thousands of small business owners and freelancers across the globe access TopNotepad and depend on our data security and data protection to meet their needs. We are security freaks and take security very seriously. Over the years we have developed an exhaustive set of processes, technologies and policies to help ensure your data is secure.

In case you are currently maintaining your data on personal computers or your own servers, the chances are that we offer a better level of security than what you currently have in place.

This document outlines some of the mechanisms and processes we have implemented to help ensure that your data is protected.

Physical Security

TopNotepad hosts its application and data in industry-leading datacenters of Digital Ocean and backed-up on the world most trusted Amazon Web Services.

The data is stored across multiple locations and each site has security cameras that monitor both the facility premises as well as each area of the datacenter internally. There are biometric readers for access as well as at least two factor authentication to gain access to the building. Each facility is unmarked so as not to draw any additional attention from the outside and adheres to strict local and federal government standards.

Credit Card Security

We hand off credit card processing to PayPal or Stripe (depending on the gateway you choose to pay through), these are among the worlds largest and most trusted online payment processing service providers. We pass off customers directly to PayPal/Stripe who are PCI compliant.

Communications

All communications with TopNotepad are transmitted over SSL (HTTPS) for both access to the public website as well as the API.
